Canyon Lake is an 8,230-surface-acre reservoir located on the Guadalupe River in Comal County, Texas. Canyon Lake and the Guadalupe River are the heart and soul of the Texas Hill Country with much to offer year-round. Locals have an affinity for renting tubes down River Road and spending afternoons floating down the Guadalupe River.
Although the primary purposes of the reservoir are flood control and water conservation, recreation and natural resources management are critical characteristics of the area. The conservation pool of the reservoir is operated by the Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority in Seguin, Texas.
